The above fit is pretty much what I used while I was training for Kronos. I would go with 3xmag stabs in missions that have easy agro management. It makes a pretty big difference.

My problem was somewhat related but opposite, my Esc config window would appear translucent and wouldn't close. I had to delete pc.dat file in eve settings directory.

When I had low skill, I just trained 1MN Afterburner and rushed through the first rooms and killed only the agro'd rats in the last room. Take a frig and fit speed mods (Overdrive Injector I) if you are shield tanking. http://eve-survival.org/wik...
